In honor of Rachael Flatt's new SP to East of Eden, I thought it was about time I revisited the performance that earned seven 6.0s:
Flatt is not my favorite skater by any means (at all, ever), but I really wish she would have picked something else. It is inevitable that she will be compared to Kwan, and I don't think that will be a good thing. However, her old SP made me feel VERY uncomfortable when watching it so I'm not really sure what she could do.
There is no different b/w Flatt and Michelle skating. However, flatt have more different 3-3 than michelle. Anyway, It's inevitable to compare to Queen Yuna! Queen Yuna is the best ever in history of figure skating.

ReplyDeleteWhoever posted @1:37, seriously? For you to say there's no difference b/w Kwan and Flatt is alerting everyone to your ignorance when it comes to skating. Yu-Na is fabulous but this post had nothing to do with her. FYI, Michelle is Yu-Na's idol so what does that say about Yu-Na if Michelle isn't any good? It's people like you who make people really annoyed with Yu-Na. This post had nothing to do with her...sheesh!
ReplyDeleteOn topic, I think Rachael should have stuck with the program she had and made a few changes to the choreography. I agree, a lot of her SP made me feel uncomfortable. Sorry, but sexy, flirty Rachael makes me wanna puke a little. There's nothing sexy about her so it's just like, yak! Picking East of Eden wasn't a smart move by her or her people. Rachael lacks the grace, line and captivating capabilities to pull off such an amazing piece of music. I cringe to think about it.
However, I wish her all the best b/c she's going to need it...

ReplyDeleteI think Rachael would have been better off using classical/piano music like she used for 09 worlds LP and her LP last year. It suits her better, and doesn't make the viewer feel uncomfortable. Even though she is not my favorite skater to watch, I don't want her to skate poorly, because the best competition is when everyone skates well and whoever deserves it wins.
